The Halloween That Was...

My Halloween weekend is now over, and let me say it was JAM PACKED! Right now I'm sitting, waiting around for trick-or-treaters (we don't get many, but I'm always ready).

Here are the photos from my Halloween:

 SPACE GIRL!!!
Yep, I made the dress, shoulder pads, wrist things, ray gun holster. Basically everything!

For my makeup I used Stargazer facepaint for the silver side of my face. My lips were done using eyelash glue with glitter over the top. I also added stick on gems, stuck with extra eyelash glue. I covered up my eyebrows using a drag queen trick that I found on youtube.

I sprayed my hawk with white and LOTS of glitter hairspray. I love glitter hairspray.

This was at The Loft, two people dressed as Yip Yips!!
I had a 45min DJ set at The Loft, all my songs had something to do with Halloween.

The awesome coffin at The Loft! I wanted to steal it.

You know what? My costume reminds me of this colouring book: Fat Ladies In SPAAAAACE!

In other news, the band Alien Vampires who played at Club Unknown were really good. I enjoyed their performance and danced to all their songs. My best friends had a huge fan girl moment because they got to hang out with them at the after party. My other friend, Merissa, was in charge of bringing them over the Perth. I think she did a brilliant job!

A Whole Bunch Of Outfits

I've keep forgetting to submit my outfits.

All of this month The Loft has been playing 80s music. The first Sunday was 80-82, the one after was 83-85, etc.
Here is one of my outfits:

Me and my lovely friend Merissa. Piano key tie! I got it in the UK, and I'm pretty sure it's vintage.

I loved my hair and makeup.

I got to DJ for the first time at Club Unknown on the 15th of October. I played all trad goth because I was on the first set of the night.
I was so lazy, I didn't even up my hawk up. I have a new PVC corset too, that I got for $50! It's very comfy, and I was wearing it that night so I could get used to it for Halloween.
My clothing was very plain too, with just a black top and skirt.

Black top: Op Shop
Corset: Ebay
Swing skirt: Evans
Lace overskirt: Cut out from a really old skirt.
Boots: Demonia

And then I also went to a birthday gathering, but I wasn't really feeling too well or talkative. I wore my green poppy dress from Yours Clothing.
Fear the green dress! I think it looks kinda cute actually. I'm thinking about wearing this to my works xmas lunch. This was the first time I wore it, I was a bit worried about it being too long. Bad thing about it is that it doesn't have any sleeves :(

I look so grumpy :P
Dress: Yours Clothing
Cardigan: New Look
Belt: Yours Clothing
Necklace: Ebay
Boots: Demonia

Skull cameo I got from Ebay.

Siouxsie badge (vintage I think, I also have a David Bowie one like this)

BONUS PHOTOS:
Me and Merissa went to a Tea House near her place. It was very yummy.

Here is Stooge, Merissa's cat. I love him because he flicks his tail around.

Here is Merissa with her housemates sausage dog, Alfie! We brought him along with us, as seating was outdoors.

We had English Breakfast tea and lots of cakes and scones (with jam and cream!)

Halloween Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips - Review

I love Sally Hansen nail polish. My love for it started back when I was in high school, I really wanted to grow my nails into long points but they kept on breaking. By chance, my step-mum got two free bottles of Hard As Nails by Sally Hansen. I used it on my nails and I haven't looked back since!

This is the nail hardener I currently use. It use two coats of this, then two coats of colour, then one of top coat. I think this stuff is brilliant.

I saw the Sally Hansen Halloween range while in Priceline. They're a bit expensive at $15 for a set, but what could I do? It's not everyday you find Halloween related nails items.

I had never used this type of product before. I always just paint my own nails, so I was worried about how it would all turn out. As you can see I got the green barbed wire packet.

The polish strips are like stickers, which stick to your nails. The instructions were terrible! I had to guess for most of it, as it doesn't really follow any pattern. I'm sure they could of made it easier to follow.

What I did was put down two coats of my nail hardener, then put the strips on. I didn't use the nail file, because it wouldn't work. I used nail scissors to cut the strips down to size. But as you'll see it all turned out well.

Ooohh pretty.

Everyone at work was complimenting me on my awesome nails (they matched my green hair). The stickers lasted about about a week, I just took them off today.

Overall, I really liked the nail strips for something different to do with my nails. I would never go to a salon to get something like this done, so it's great to be able to do it at home. Next time I'd like to try the spiderweb design.

Pros: Really awesome looking nails that will last a week.

Cons: High price. The fact you have to guess a bit about putting them on.

Wednesday Wants

Okay, so I thought of a few Wants for this week. Basically I'll be doing it when I can find enough items.

First off, I just bought a crap load of stuff from Torrid. They had all these belts, and I couldn't resist. Plus this:

Day of the Dead Cardigan. Torrid, $38.50. I totally bought this. They didn't have my size, so I got one up from that. I can just tailor it if I find it's too loose.

Bird skull necklace. Ebay, $16aud. Have I already featured one of these? I can't remember, but I really love these. I think I will buy this one, seeing as it's a good price.

Evans Diamante Swimsuit. Evans, £32.00. It's currently spring here in Australia. Days are usually around 23 degrees C. but a few days ago it was 35 degrees. That's what it usually is in summer, all the time :(
I basically died, I really dislike summer. But it made me think of swimming and eating icey poles. This is the only swimsuit I could find that I really liked.

Lazy News

I've been thinking to change a weekly 'Wednesday Wants' to monthly, because I'm seriously running out of cool things :(
Hope you guys can forgive me.

Recently I've been very busy with work. I haven't been taking photos of my outfits, because they're pretty boring at the moment. Here are some from a shopping trip from a few weeks ago (I'm waaay behind, I know)

Here's me with me shopping at my feet. I think I bought soft drink and chocolate for a movie night.

I'm wearing:
Sunglasses: $3 from Op Shop
Rocky Horror Shirt: From Perth store (I can't remember where, but it was really expensive and I only bought it because I had a gift voucher)
Skirt: Op Shop
Tights: Either Evans or We Love Colors
Winklepickers: Underground Shoes
Bag: Ironfist

My necklaces are:
A ribbon I always wear as a choker
A bat necklace I made from a Halloween decoration
Rosary from New Norcia

The Rocky Horror Picture Show shirt is a really light cotton. Great for summer. I've recently cut the neck out, as it was losing it's shape.

My friend found these in the Op Shop for $2!! She was kind enough to go halves with me.

The Loft - Vespertine Fashion Show

The Loft held the Vespertine Fashion Show, which I was asked to DJ for. Here is what I wore:

I actually slept with my hair in a hawk from the night before at Club Unknown. I'm always surprised about how it stays in place, even if I sleep on my back. I seriously love my hairspray because it keeps my hair up forever.

Fishnet top: DIY from tights
Bauhaus top: Purchased from Ebay, DIY the cuts and safety pins.
Corset: ? I can never remember
Skirt: Target
Boots: Underground Boots

The cross necklace was made by a friend of mine who gave it to me because she never wore it. My makeup is very plain, as I was tired from staying up late the night before.

Here is a photo that my friend Shaun took of me.

Hex Photography @ Club Unknown

Hex Photography had an event at Club Unknown on the 24th of September. I know, it's taken me a while to get these uploaded :P
Hex Photography is run by a friend of mine, her photos are great! One day I'll have a photo shoot with her, but I have no idea what to do. The theme for the night was horror, so my friends had lots of fake blood. I didn't use any because I was lazy.

I had freshly shaved the sides of my head and put my hair in a hawk. It's not really long enough to backcomb yet.

Nose chain!

This is the new velvet choker I got from ebay, it has a cute spiderweb pendant and was pretty cheap!

Bathroom photos at Club Unknown.

Pirate shirt: Hippy store in Fremantle
Corset: Minx Corsety
Skirt: Ebay USA
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Demonia

I dressed really simple. I really didn't put much effort into it, I can't remember why.
