I Live in a World of Shit

Today, a guy decided to throw eggs at me from his car. He missed the first time, so he and his friend drove around the block and hit me again.

I had egg all over me, I got hit so hard I was bleeding. It got all over my new work clothes.
This happened as I was walking from Cannington Shopping Centre to the Cannington Train Station. Only a 10 minute walk. It was 6.20pm, just after dusk. Sadly, I couldn't get the number plate as it was too dark. And they were driving fast.

I was carrying my shopping, and I felt so alone and scared.

What I want to know is: why me? What have I done that makes it okay to pelt me with eggs. Is it because I'm a fat single white female goth? Was it because I looked happy. Was it because I was alone. Is it because I'm ugly?

Would they do this to an old person? Or a hot young girl? Or a group of men?

Why would anyone think this is funny?
Throwing eggs at a girl, and making her bleed. I hope they get what's coming to them.

That's horrible, what tossers. It's happened to me, though they hit my brother instead. I honestly, don't understand the world. Your a beautiful women and shouldn't feel like it was your fault. These type's of people just need a stab in the face to teach them a lesson!

Just remember that one day they'll try and insult some poor person and get a slap in the face.

Oh my goodness, hopefully you are alright?!

If you can, try to report them. Anything can help: a description of what they looked like, if you grabbed a license plate, etc. If you are going to report it but feel your appearance might distant yourself from the authorities, you might want to tone down the look, but sometimes how you look can be a reason as to why they would want to be so hateful, so discriminative.

This should not happen, and I am disgraced that we have to share a world with hateful people like that. I knew a beautiful college girl that was egged on her first day, just walking around campus. Not fair!

Thats so horrible. Some people are really just a piece of scum. No normal person would do something like this.

That's terrible! This made me cry. I'm so sorry. These people are absolutely terrible. That's not fair. At all.
I cant believe how horrible some people are.

What happened to you is so horrible that I can't find the words to describe it. Don't take is personal, dear. The sad truth is that people like them are afraid of people dressing differently. They will never acknowledge this fact, but they are. These type of people are so narrow-minded that everything different from what they are used to or consider normal is a thread to them. And by attacking you like that they think they will stop you from dressing the way you do. Don't let them take away your style. Don't let them them take away who you are. Because that is exactly what they are aiming for. I wish you all the strength in the world. You are a very brave person for posting this.

The lack of empathy in everyday people astounds me. Your statement "Why would anyone think this is funny?" alone proves that you are a far better person than those narrow-minded bullies will ever be. They are spineless weaklings, assaulting someone from the safety and anonymity of their vehicle and then running away like the cowards they are. You are brave, telling your story for everyone. They want to believe they're big and bad, but really they're... well, utterly insignificant. The best revenge is to forget about them. They're not worth your neurons.

In the end, what did they accomplish? Giving you a couple more readers for your blog, I suspect. :)

That's awful! I've had eggs thrown at me from moving cars too, and it's so hurtful. The only comfort I can offer is that these people are cowards, and that you are clearly a far better person than they are, because you're thinking and trying to rationalise in the face of mindless cruelty. I recommend a bubble bath and a cup of hot chocolate, and I hope you'll feel better soon.

I am also a "fat goth". I'm fortunate enough to have not gone through this experience, but nonetheless i feel your pain. Those people are nothing. they are but a a passing breeze in your life. Screw them, i'm sure you have more to offer the world than they do. Stay strong.

Thank you to everyone for posting such postive comments to cheer me up. I'm okay now, but it really sucked at the time. I have not let these people get to me, and I'm going to walk wherever I want without fear.

Ah the joy that you find around Cannington. The train station after work hours is the only place I've been genuinely afraid around Perth. Hope you're ok - don't let a few arseholes stop you from doing anything.

Hi there, I just came across your blog today and was looking through all the past entries and saw this and HAD to comment - I'm so sorry this happened to you. People can be such shit and they probably just did this because they are pieces of shit with empty lives and cold hearts. You definitely did nothing to deserve this!

Oh poor dear =( I'm sorry, you probably forgot about it by now, but I really had the urge to hug you when I read your post. Just try to ignore what happened : you're a beautiful person, while these guys are just plain jerks. You shouldn't mind that kind of people's opinions on you or your style. Do not seek for their reasons: you might have looked completely different, these guys being utterly cowards, they might have attacked you anyway.
