Hobble Along

Oh man, my ankle is sore.
Last Saturday I went on my first long outing with my boot. I went with my lovely friend Dani. We went to Spotlight to pick up some craft materials.
I'm still really slow, and the boot restricts my ankle movement. I've been taking it off at night, because I want to be able to flex my ankle. It's so stiff, I can't even point my toes! :(

I'm wearing:
Cotton biker jacket: No Future (DIY by me)
Bikini Kill shirt: From their website
Skirt: Avella (Big W)
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Dr. Marten

I've also sewed some new new patches. This is the slater on my left arm. I love slaters, they're so cute! They're called pill bugs in America. I also call them roly polies :)
On my other arm I have the symbol for Pluto. Sailor Moon reference.

This is my first week back at work. I'm doing okay, and luckily there is not much that I've missed. I've been using the priority seating on public transport (gotta use it while I can!). Next week I'm going to Wagga Wagga for my university resident school.

Monthly Homework Assignment: April Showers

It has been rainy here in Perth the last few days. Sadly, it's not cold so the resulting days are humid :(

I've been on the lookout for a good umbrella for a long time. I love compact umbrellas, so I can fold it and carry it in my bag. Whenever I buy an umbrella, it seems to die once a gust of wind comes along. Apparently, Perth is the second windiest city in the world, so that doesn't mix well with umbrellas.
I don't ask for much in an umbrella, I want it to cover my hair and makeup. I don't want the rain to wash off my eyebrows and ruin my hair!

My favourite rain boots are my Dr. Martens. I make sure to polish them well, so they are water proof. They're great for splashing around.

These are my current boots and they're looking a bit sad.

They have a hole in the sole, that lets in the water! :( That means I get sad wet feet.

Luckily, I have bought a new pair.
I got these second hand on ebay. I totally recommend buying online, as they are much cheaper than getting from a store. You can do the sneaky thing, and go into a store to find your size then buy online. It seems a bit low, but the shoes in the store can cost $200 when they're only $100 online.

I'm not looking forward to breaking them in, there will be many blisters and bandaids. Once I have broken them in I will have a lovely pair of boots for the coming winter! Yay!!

Leading Up

I'm now on my xmas holiday from work. We get a week off and return on the 2nd of January. I don't have any plans, but I'm getting a new video game for christmas so I'll be playing that. I did my christmas shopping online this year, so I'm all set. I'm spending christmas and boxing day with my parents, wish me luck!! (I'm bringing a cross-stitch so I won't get too bored)
It's going to be 40 degrees celsius on christmas. Kill me now.
I worked Saturday and Sunday at the Rooftop Movies. They were showing christmas films.

SATURDAY 22nd Dec
Movie: Love Actually
Dress: Asos
Belt: Torrid
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Dr. Martens

I received this bling skull from my Granny for my birthday :)

SUNDAY 23rd Dec
Movie: It's A Wonderful Life
Ignore the toilet in the background (classy). The lighting in the toilets always makes my belly look big!
I did popcorn duty at the movies, then went downstairs to DJ and dance at The Loft. The movies are on the carpark next to The Loft, very convenient. I hope that I didn't scare too many people with my look at the movies! There were a lot of children!!!

Shirt: New Look
Skirt: Lady Bryant
Tights: We Love Colors
Winklepickers: Underground Shoes

MONDAY 24th Dec
Movie: Muppet's Christmas Carol
I wasn't there to work, I actually went to see the film with my sister. Kirsty hasn't been to the Rooftop Movies, so I enjoyed showing her around. We used to watch Muppet's Christmas Carol when we were children. I LOVE the Muppets.
Sadly there was technical difficulties and the movie was cancelled! :(

Top: Supre
Skirt: ? Ebay
Tights: New Look

Best wished to everyone for the holiday season!

My Week In Clothes

I feel terrible that I can't post heaps of new clothing posts. So I decided to take a bunch of photos of the clothes that I wear to work. These were taken in the bathroom :)

MONDAY 10th Dec
Top: BeMe
Skirt: Op Shop
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Dr. Marten

I wear reading glasses, because I have bad eyesight and work on a computer all day. I basically wear them all of the time, apart from when I'm going out. Most of the other photos in this post were taken before I got to put on my glasses.

TUESDAY 11th Dec
Top: ? Plain black t-shirt
Skirt: Big W
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Rivers

I wear socks over my tights so that I don't get hurty feet. Haha :)

WEDNESDAY 12th Dec
Wednesday was our xmas lunch! We went to a hotel for a buffet (yum!)
Cardigan: Target
Dress: Sourpuss (I wish it was one size larger, they stop at 2XL. Note to Sourpuss, make 3XL and I'll buy all of your clothes)
Tights: We Love Colors
Winklepickers: Pennangalan

I really loved the dress design. I wore cobweb earrngs, bat necklace and eyeball hairclip.
I got a skull in my secret santa present, they know me too well!

THURSDAY 13th Dec
Shirt: From Franny in New York!
Skirt: Big W
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Ebay

FRIDAY 14th Dec
Top: ? Maybe Big W
Skirt: Evans
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Dr. Martens

The thing I wear most seems to be my tights from We Love Colors. Mainly because these are long lasting plus sized tights that don't get ladders in them.

Here is a bonus photo of me with giant teeth on my head!

And the sunset from the Rooftop Movies in Perth

Shock and Horror

On Saturday I went shopping with Dani in Perth. I went to the optometrist to get my eyes checked and choose some new glasses. It was a very hot day, I'm not looking forward to summer :(

I wore:
Shirt: BeMe
Skirt: Evans
Belt: Torrid
Tights: ?
Winklepickers: Dr. Marten (vintage!!)

I love the hi-low skirt. My friend calls them 'mullet' skirts :(

Here is Dani looking cute like always

We had waffles for lunch. Yum!

I also had this fantastic mango smoothie.

We took timezone photos!

I bought so much stuff! Three pairs of earrings. I love the ones on the left, they're so trad goth.

I've been looking everywhere for a coffin bracelet, glad I finally found one.

The candle store Dusk had their Halloween stuff on sale. I bought this haunted house decoration that holds tea light candles inside the windows.

Candle holder.

Halloween food!!!! I have no idea what the ghost twisties taste like, I don't know what 'spooky flavour' is suppose to be! I bought about four packets of them, and three of the screme eggs. I've already eaten two packets of the screme eggs! :-/

Green inside!

I was invited to a friends Halloween party on Saturday night, but I hadn't prepared a costume! Luckily I cobbled together something from clothes I already own, I went as a 1950's kind of girl.

I curled my hair at the front and wore a bandanna. I made my eyebrows curved. It's a very different look for me, very 'girly'

Top: Target
Belt: Torrid
Skirt: Domino Dollhouse
I also wore a black petticoat underneath, from Domino Dollhouse also

I love the circle skirt, it's been in my wardrobe for ages but I never wear it. Domino Dollhouse is a great store for plus-size girls. Very unique items.

Merissa looked lovely with Day of the Dead makeup!

Lots of spooky decorations around the DJ area :)

The best part about the party was my friends new puppy!!! He's so darn cute, and it made me realise that I'm much more a dog person (although I do like cats too!)

This is their other dog Snuffy. He's a bit timid, but a softy.

The puppy is named Damage, here he is licking Merissa.

Merissa made him a spider costume!! AAAH SO CUTE!!!

I wanted to steal him.
