Wednesday Wants- Retroscope Edition

Oh yeah, I'm still being lazy. I've purchase a CRAP LOAD of clothes from Yours Clothing and Evans. When they arrive I will do a big review on everything I got. I also purchased the zombie handbag I've been wanting.

Anyway, today I'm doing a small bit on the web store Retroscope, which sells Victorian and Lolita type clothing.
I used to look at this website for ages, wishing I had enough money to buy something.

ALSO: The image uploader is playing around on me, so I can't put up another item that I was going to. Sorry about that.

Black Victorian Grand Dame Blouse. Retroscope Fashions, $64.95usd. It's very impossible for me to find a nice girly blouse. The only one I have is a converted men's shirt with lace stitched to the cuffs that I made myself. I would love something like this.

Gothic Aristocrat Chiffon Skirt. Retroscope Fashions, $99.99usd? How lovely is this skirt? It's pretty cheap too. I love the layers and I can imagine it with a corset and flowy top.

The March Violets - Love Will Kill You EP

I love the March Violets. They've recently released a 5 song EP called Love Will Kill You, with Dandelion King being my favourite song. To get access to this, and many other updates you just have to pledge a little bit of money at Pledge Music. It's totally worth it, they're such a great 80's goth band.

I've also VERY excited about the Danse Society reforming, they're my top favourite band.

New hair colour!

Yep, I dyed my hair red. It's currently really crispy and not very nice. I'm very afraid the colour will fade to pink :(
I'm going green once I get tired of this.

ALSO:
I've been finding my 'How to Backcomb' video all over the place!

How to Backcomb Your Hair

I seriously can't think of any Wednesday Wants today, so you get one of my YouTube videos instead:

The Loft's First Birthday

On Sunday I went to one of my favourite clubs in Perth. The Loft celebrated it's first birthday and had a members only hour, which was great fun. The rest of the night was open to everyone, and door proceeds went to charity. I love DJing at the Loft, if you live in Perth I suggest you check it out. It's always a fun night!
The Loft plays alternative 80's, 90's, and beyond.

Bowie Shirt: No idea where this came from. Maybe one of those places that sells band shirts for $10. I customised it myself.
Skirt: New Look
Tights: One pair sheer Evans, one pair fishnet Evans.
Boots: Dr. Marten

Back of my Bowie shirt, with a glimpse of my Bowie tattoo on the right shoulder.

Necklaces: Silver crosses, Diva. Wooden rosary, $2 shop.

I wore really plain makeup, I was running late for the train and caught it with only a minute to spare! No foundation, only powder, eyeliner and shadow, and lip gloss (which I never wear).

Wednesday Wants

A cute cardigan? Well you may think so, but check out the back of it.
WTF! Why would anyone wear a cardigan with a lace back? If it was all the same cherry design I'd buy two. Oh well *sighs*
Black Cherry Lace Back Cardigan, Torrid $38usd. It's a bit overpriced too.

But this is VERY cute!!! I am totally buying this, even though it's very chilly at the moment.
Green & Black Poppy Print Tie Belt Dress, Yours Clothing £30.00.

Black Pleated Skirt, Torrid $38.50usd. Damn, I wish this came in my size. Only one size too small :(

I'll be buying hair bleach and dying my hair when I get paid next week. So watch out for that!

Studio X @ Club Unknown

A band/dj group came to play at Club Unkown on June 4th. Studio X play hardstyle type music, with a lot of remixes to popular EBM bands. I'm not a fan of hardstyle, I find it's too ravey for me.

The band was brilliant, very energetic and professional. The members were really down to earth and I had pancakes with them the next day (as my best friend is basically running Club Unknown).

Here is what I wore:
Shirt: Random Camden Market stall, in London
Fishnet top: UK Ebay, but easy to make if you need one
Corset: Dark Muse Corsetry
Skirt: Target
Tights: One pair of large diamond fishnets, one pair of sheer Evans tights.
Boots: Dr. Martens

And here is one of the makeup I wore. I get my liquid eyeliner and eyeshadow from Ice Accessories, brand BYS. Lipstick is Revlon Crushed Velvet in PushUp Plum (my favourite). I can't remember my mascara brand :P

Wednesday Wants

My new job is great. I wont get paid for a few weeks, but I don't mind. It's means I wont spend it all.

Today's items don't include any fashion, I've been looking around but haven't seen anything of interest.

Gorilla Perfume Mini Set, Lush Cosmetics $24.95aud. I've been craving a new perfume, but I don't know what I want and what will suit me. I remember smelling a perfume while clubbing once, and asked the girl what she was wearing. Lust, Gorilla Perfume. The scents I don't like, I'll give to friends.

Mattify! Ulta, Mattify! Cosmetics $12.99usd. Oh shiny face, the bane of my life. I've only recently been using Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation (It's brilliant), before that I was a shiny oily mess. I'd really love to try this as I've been needing a new face powder. The price is cheap, but will it be any good?
Zombie Head Cookie Jar, Think Geek $39.99usd. I LOVE THIS! Zombies and cookies go so well together. I've been wanting this ever since it came out, and it's inclusion today may be the fact I'm craving chocolate.

Marychain, a Spotlight on

Marychain has been a good friend of mine for ages, which is strange considering I've never met her and she lives on the other side of the world. We first met on Deviantart, I can't remember the exact details but I think it had something to do with my Theda Bara avatar.

Marychain is one of my all time favourite artists, her lines are clean and there is a cartoonish quality to her work. Her work is vintage/Gothic inspired.

I think this may have to be part of my next tattoo, because it's so brilliant.

Not only is she a good artist, she's totally my girl crush!

I loved this so much that I got it tattooed!

As seen here, I haven't got a better photo of it yet. I need to get it touched up.
I love this because it's so simple and cute. She'll probably hate me because I didn't choose her more 'serious' artwork.

So cyber!

Please look at her Deviantart account. She's brilliant, and I'm not saying that just because she's my friend!

P.S. I commissioned her to draw me and Adam Ant tattoo. I can't wait! That's where the name of this blog came from. Goody Two Shoes = Gothy Two Shoes

Being a Goody Two Shoes

For as long as I remember, I've always had good morals. I've grown up around drug users, alcoholics, and dole bludgers. I realised that I never wanted to be like them, so started my life long commitment to being 'good'. I've never done drugs, never drunk alcohol, never smoked. Whenever the topic comes up  (generally if I'm at a pub with new friends) the person gasps and says 'REALLY!?'
Like it's a big deal that a 21 year old has never had a drop of alcohol.

I don't identify as straight edge, which is a term generally used for the Punk subculture. I don't think there is a Goth version, but I don't want to be associated with straight edge anyway. I mean, I was thinking about this before I even knew there was a Punk movement about living straight. Lots of things do overlap with my lifestyle. I don't drink coffee (only because I don't like the taste), I'm still a virgin (not from choice).

I guess the one thing I identify with is the song 'Goody Two Shoes' by Adam Ant. Adam Ant is another person who has never taken drugs, he used to not drink but I think that's different now. I think having good morals shows great strength in a person. Being able to say 'no' when offered a pint of beer. I've even had a vodka breezer shoved in my hand, which I then give back to the person who gave it to me. This basically happened when a guy thought he could try and get into my good books by buying me alcohol, he looked kind of angry that I didn't drink thus wasting his money. Maybe he should of gotten to know me first?
(Not that I would of taken a drink from a stranger anyway, I've very picky)

I have a great support network with my friends. They don't know I rely on them. I'm lucky that all of my close friends aren't big drinkers. Sure, they drink sometimes, and some might even do drugs but they don't do it in front of me. I've never seen one of my friends blind drunk, I secretly thank them for this everyday.

Sometimes I think that being 'goody' is the most rebellious of all. A definition of rebel is to resist control. People who drink/drugs/etc are being controlled by their peers. I am not, thus I am a rebel. I am stubborn and an individual. I will not do something just because you say I should, I will think it over and follow through based on my decision.

When I was in High School, my fellow students were pressured by their friends to be 'cool' and get really drunk. I don't find drunkenness cool. What is so great about acting like an idiot, falling over, vomiting, hangovers and blackouts.
I'm not against drinking, mind you, I think it's okay to enjoy a drink or two (or whatever). I just find it stupid and unnecessary to drink to get drunk.

Those people who say they can't have fun without drinking? Every weekend I go clubbing, at Club Unknown, from open to close. I only drink water, and I'm dancing more than anyone there. I don't need dutch courage to get onto the dance floor. Just give me Sisters of Mercy and I'm there.

I've never said this before, but it saddens me that some of my intermediate family abuse drugs and alcohol. And everyday it's a reminder of what I don't want to end up like.

Wedneday Wants- Job Edition

So, I got a job! YAY!!!
I am so happy, I'm starting Thursday. I spent all last night thinking about what stuff I can buy. Things I've been craving but don't have enough money for.
So, this is the wish list that will most likely come true. I'm totally buying that zombie chomper handbag from a previous Wednesday Want. And a whole lot of waist belts.

Shadoweyes, Volume 2 Shadoweyes In Love. $9usd Amazon. I've loved Ross Campbell's work since picking up a copy of The Abandoned in my local comic store. His characters are mainly alternative and there are HEAPS of curvy girls, each with a unique style. I'm a big fan of his series Wet Moon, and I've collected all his works. Shadoweyes is a fairly recent comic book from Ross, but apparently he's had the idea ever since a child. I look forward to more work from him.

The Walking Dead, Volume 11 Fear The Hunters. $9usd Amazon. I'm also a fan of the Walking Dead series of comics. I collected my first issue back in high school, it was on sale and I love anything zombie related. I then collected the rest of the series, and I'm up to Volume 10. I haven't had enough money to buy Volume 11 and upwards. I can't wait to re-read the whole series, it only takes me about 30mins to get though one. Totally worth it though, brilliant characters and great artwork. Plus zombies!

Glam Breakfast Mug. Hark! A Vagrant, $14usd. It's a Ziggy Stardust mug, what more can I say?

Black steel boned buckle corset. Minx Corsets, $150aud. I need a new corset! Luckily one of my good friends runs a corset shop. I've always wanted a buckled corset, and I love the fact that it's satin and not PVC like so many corsets with buckles.

Blood And Glitter

Last weekend I went to a friends birthday party, which was held at Bar Open. She choose the theme of Blood and Glitter. Me and Nikki decided to go full out, which we love doing. We went on a quest for glitter, and we were well prepared for the weekend.

So, here is me. As you can see I went crazy with my makeup. I covered my eyebrows (I'll link the YouTube video I used at the end of this post). I made a new nose chain, which I love. I bought a tiara, but glued the skull on. And LOTS of glitter. I stuck glitter over my lipstick.

This is before putting on my eyelashes and doing my hair.

Here is the finished product. I'm not wearing my corset in this photo, because I put on my corset after driving into Perth. It's super uncomfortable getting into a car wearing a corset.
This is a handmade dress recycled from my year 12 ball. 18th Century style.

And here is me with my best friend, Nikki.

Here is how I hid my eyebrows, only using a gluestick!
