Australian Native

This past weekend my parents and I visited Zanthorrea Nursery, which specialises in Australian native plants.
I love plants, and now that I have a backyard (aka sand pit) I can start to plan a garden. I personally love cottage flowers, but they don't do well in the Australian sun, and my little house gets a lot of sun.

They had a few cute sculptures around, plus a chicken coop and a garden dog. He was an old boarder collie :)

I'm not wearing any makeup, only sunscreen. I'm trying to have no makeup on the weekends, so I can give my face a rest. I'll only put some on if I'm going somewhere important.
My parasol was very welcome on the day, as although it's now Autumn the sun is still dangerous.

I'll hopefully do a post about my new house in the future. I'm still unpacking!

It's a nice day for a Goth wedding

Today I was invited to the wedding of two of my friends. The weather was sunny, which was a relief as it has been threatening thunderstorms and rain all week. The ceremony was held in Queens Gardens in Perth, and the reception was at a pub. The whole day was very lovely, and it's so good to see such a happy couple. I also got to see some acquaintances that I regularly see out clubbing, it's so strange to see them in the day time ;-)

I wore a new dress I purchased from City Chic especially for the occasion. It's titled Fleetwood Maxi Dress, and you can see from how flowy it is that it's Stevie Nicks inspired. I would really like to dance in this dress in the future, I'll probably wear it to my next club event.

I tied the dress together with:
Belt: Torrid
Tights: We Love Colors
Winklepickers: Pennangalan

In my hair I wore a combination of flower clips I found. The bat necklace is from ebay.
I'm a bit annoyed because I wanted to wear a different lipstick but I couldn't find it! I had to make do with an old one.

I finally also got to wear these fantastic earrings that I was saving for a special occasion. They have different colours shimmering through, mainly green.

Incursion Sci-Fi in July

Over the weekend was Incursion Sci-Fi in July club event. I got two DJ sets, which I always appreciate. Both my sets went well, with lots of people dancing to both.
Here is some photos of my outfit for the night. I was a bit lazy and didn't dress up for the night, didn't even wear a corset.

Shirt: Ebay
Jacket: No Future
Skirt: Asos
Winklepickers: Underground Shoes

My hair is growing fast, it wont be long until I can have my death-hawk back again!

What's Up With Me

So what have I been up to lately? I've been pretty quiet, and I'm dealing with a lot of depressive thoughts at the moment. I don't want to bore you guys with that sort of thing, but it's hard to do anything because life seems pointless. I don't feel like I have a support network here, and to be frank if I disappeared it would take quite a while for anyone to notice and the first person to notice would be someone in New York, on the opposite side of the planet to where I live. Bit sad to think about.
I do have some photos from limited outings I've had. I'm smiling, but that doesn't mean much at the moment (gosh, I sound like a mope).

Having breakfast in the city centre. Wearing a Hell Bunny Ouija cardigan given to me for my birthday last year, finally being able to wear it now it's colder.

Finally finished my sisters blanket!! Here it is displayed on my messy bed. I think she really liked it!

So many squares.

My younger sister turned 18, and we had a little family gathering.
Wearing the Hell Bunny cardigan again. I love the winklepickers I'm wearing, they're black suede with western buckles. I don't know what brand they are, but I don't wear them often because they cause blisters :(

Here is the birthday girl, I can't believe she's 18 now!

My friend/co-worker wanted to go out for her birthday, so we ended up going to a pub. I didn't really know what to wear, so I went a bit trad goth.

Lovely matte purple lipstick from Fyrinnae

I bought a few vinyl albums lately.
I got the Hairspray soundtrack from ebay for $15 from Germany. I love Hairspray, and I love John Waters. He's such a cool guy, and I really admire his films and his quest for filth.

In the middle is the new LP album from Rule of Thirds, a post-punk sounding band from Adelaide. It's a great album, but I wished they included a MP3 download with it. I believe it cost $30 including a band t-shirt.

Lastly is Pinups by David Bowie. I purchased it for $20 from a second hand vinyl place near my dads house. This album is a collection of some of Bowie's favourite artists/songs resung by him. I love the cover artwork with him and the supermodel Twiggy.
I'm slowly collecting Bowie vinyl, I really need The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust, but it's hard to find cheap. Luckily, I already have my favourite album of his, Young Americans.

Bring me cold weather!!

I love the cold weather, and it's finally starting to turn wintery in Perth. Yesterday morning was a chilly 5 degrees celsius (that's 41 fahrenheit for you yanks) with a day temperature of 18 degrees (64 fahrenheit). It probably doesn't sound cold for my readers in other countries, but Perth doesn't really get cold.

I got to wear my punk jacket for the first time this year, along with a scarf and gloves. More weather like this please!
Lots of people at work ask me if my head is cold because of my hair. I don't really notice it, I'm sure I had less hair when I had my mohawk.

This is my early morning 'just woken up' face :)

Incursion Masquerade, April 2015

On Saturday, during the Easter long weekend, I got to DJ at Incursion. It was a masqurade theme. I was very stressed during that time as I had two university assignments I hadn't started, luckily I only had one DJ set at the start of the night.
I was feeling a bit lonely and anxious too, so it's good I was able to leave early.
Here's some photos of my makeup, and professional photos from Vespa Photography (at the venue)

I purchased this bat mask from Ebay for around $2. Luckily it arrived in time.
I glued it to my face using eyelash glue.

Here a close up of my makeup, I used eyelash glue and glitter for the lips. I used a silver chrome along with lots of holo glitter for the eyes.

Photo Before Breakfast

I took a quick photo while waiting to be seated for breakfast yesterday with a friend. I tried to dress up nicely because I'm feeling down at the moment.

Dim Sum is Amazing

A little while ago I had a busy Saturday. I had Dim Sum in the morning, and then went to see La Soiree, a Fringe World show, in the evening.

This is the tent La Soiree is shown, I wanted to show it to my sister before we went to have Dim Sum.

I'm wearing a Joy Division/Ian Curtis shirt (no idea where from)

Poor little sea critters. That being said, I always love to look at them at Chinese resturants.

Here's my sister, flaunting her freedom to the crabs.

Gosh, I love Dim Sum. You can see the hands of my Sister and Cousin. This restaurant has amazing BBQ pork buns with a sweet glaze, seen on the bottom left. I have no idea what they're called, but they're wonderful.

Some Sunflowers in the Urban Orchard, near the Art Gallery of WA.

Later that evening I got ready to see La Soiree with a co-worker/friend.
I tried to do some pretty make-up.

I got those awesome ankh earrings from Ebay.

What I Wore: Last Hobbit Film

On Monday I went to see the last Hobbit film with my dad. I really enjoyed the movie, even though a lot of reviews complained about the length, etc. I'm a big fan of Peter Jackson's film style, and I think he did well with the Hobbit films. We watched it in 3D IMAX, which is a bit difficult if you wear reading glasses like I do, having to put the 3D glasses over the top of them :-/

The day was a bit warm, so I decided to wear bare legs.
Shirt: Gift from friend
Skirt: Evans
Frilly socks: Evans
Creepers: TUK

I'm wearing some cute black frilly socks and my winklepicker creepers I bought online at TUK 4th of July sale.

I'm wearing a bandana because my hair is in desperate need of a dye. You can see my blonde regrowth!

Two Bowie's for the price of one!
