Halloween Tag!

Hey, long time, not talk. Procrastination is my name, not doing stuff is my game. Anyway, the lovely Meagan, from Coffin Kitsch, tagged me in a Halloween Tag. I need to answer 13 questions (spooky number) and tag 5 other bloggers.

So here we go!

1. Favourite Halloween song?
I Put a Spell on You, by Screamin' Jay Hawkins

2. Witch or Vampire?
Oh man, I like both. I guess, technically, witches have more power than vampires. But vampires have always been my favourite.

3. Favourite thing about Halloween?
Finding items to use all year. Although it's difficult to find items in Perth, I love finding spooky candles, and other decorations to display around my apartment all year.

4. Halloween Party of Scary movie marathon?
Movie marathon, by myself with a pack of chips. I actually don't think I've ever been to a Halloween party, apart from club nights.

5. Skeletons or Zombies?
Another hard question. I love skeletons, but I'll have to choose zombies. I've toned down a bit, but I'm a huge fan of zombie films. I've seem so many of those gory 70's zombie films, I think my mind has been desensitised.

6. Favourite Halloween candy?
Cadbury Screme Eggs! I love the mini ones the best!

7. Favourite Halloween movie?
Halloween, the first ever "horror" film I ever watched. I used to watch it a lot.

8. Favourite Halloween costume?
I loved my spooky ghost costume, from a few years ago.

9. Favourite Halloween store?
Sadly, we don't have any Halloween stores in Perth. This year's shops are terrible, there is really nothing on offer. I guess the closest we have is Lombards, which is a party supply store. The Halloween stuff is usually displayed alongside the Melbourne Cup items :(

10. Jack-o-lanterns, yes or no?
Eeeh, I mean, I don't hate jack-o-lanterns. I guess they're okay?

11. Bats or Black Cats?
Bats! They's so cute.

12. Is Halloween your favourite holiday?
Yes! Even though it's not popular in Australia, I love the chance to find some new spooky things to buy. Although, Christmas comes at a close second, due to the family and yummy food.

13. Pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate! I don't drink coffee, and hot chocolate is probably what I buy if I want a hot drink.

Incursion Halloween 2014

I got to DJ at Incursion Halloween on Saturday 1st Nov. There was a great turnout, I think the night went really well.

Here's my skeleton Frederick Bonesworthington testing out the decks

Me and fellow DJ, Joel. I admire Joel because he's a minority, within a minority, within a minority. He's a gay alternative Aboriginal :) We don't see each other often, but he's a really genuine guy

Some club decorations

I'm a witch!
Sorry about the grotty bathroom mirror shot. Someone obviously didn't clean up properly. My witch costume is seriously what I usually wear to the club, I just added a witches hat.

The wig I used only cost $10 on ebay. Much better quality from those crappy costume store wigs!

I put a star on my forehead with inspiration from the T-Rex song 'Ride a White Swan'

I used some indie makeup brands, Life's Entropy and Shiro.
I used Life's Entropy Osmosis lipstick, I mixed in some darker blue around the corners of my lips. [my review of Life's Entropy]
I used Shiro's Evolve eyeshadow.

Heading home with Fred in the backseat.

When in doubt, dress up and go out.

Yesterday, my sister and I went shopping. I wanted to look at the Halloween things, and get an idea of what I need to buy for my future birthday party.
I wasn't feeling 100% but put on some makeup and nice clothes to try and make myself feel better.

My hair is super green at the moment because I dyed it last Wednesday.
Shirt: City Chic
Skirt: Evans
Leggings: Target
Lipstick: Lime Crime
Boots: Justin Roper Cowboy Boots
Prescription Sunglasses: Zenni Optical

I found some great Halloween things, I'm going back when I get paid next.
I have so many Halloween cupcake cases, I'm going to have to make a bunch of cupcakes this year. I'm going to use the finger puppets in loot bags for my b-day. I love how expressive and cute they are!

The End of Horror Movie Reviews

I'm now at the end of my month worth of Horror movie reviews. I hope that you enjoyed reading, I loved seaching for new movies to watch and old classics. I failed a bit at the end, my volunteer job took a lot of my free nights away. So I couldn't bring new reviews.
Maybe I'll do it again next year, if you guys enjoyed it.

Here is a list of movies I watched, but I couldn't be bothered to review:
Cabin in the Woods (2012): Brilliant, highly recommend.
Tucker & Dale vs Evil (2010): Made me laugh a lot :)
Halloween (1978): The first horror movie I ever watched. Love it!

Movies I wish I got to watch, but not enough time:
Suspriria (1977): I've watching this quite a few times, it's really spooky and beautiful!
Wild Zero (1999): Silly and funny
Other J-Horror Films: In my opinion, Japan has heaps of horror films that are actually scary compared to American horror which is a snore. (Current American horror films anyway)

I've also learnt something about myself. I'm REALLY desensitised to horror films, nothing freaks me our anymore. So I'm sorry if you watch one of these films expecting a walk in the park, then get freaked out and can't sleep for ages. Because apparently nothing scares me anymore.

My reviews:
Trick 'r Treat
Orphan
Twins of Evil
Phantasm
The Woman
The Abominable Dr. Phibes
The Changeling
Return of the Living Dead

Horror Movie Review: Return of the Living Dead

My apologies for how late this is. It was suppose to finish on Halloween, but I've been really busy lately with no time to get on the Internet :(

Return of the Living Dead (1985) is my favourite zombie movie. This is the only film I've seen where the zombies call for "BRAINSSSS!"

The movie starts with Freddy at his new job at Uneeda medical supply warehouse. Frank is his supervisor and shows Freddy some strange things, including split dogs and a human cadaver.

Freddy asks Frank about the most strangest thing he's ever seen go through the warehouse. Frank tells the story of some Army barrels that were delivered by mistake, the tanks holding an experiment that brought the dead back to life and inspired 'Night of the Living Dead'. They go down to the basement to view the tanks because Freddy doesn't believe him. The tanks springs a leak and sprays horrible gas over the two men and into the ventilation system.

Meanwhile, a group of punks are lamenting the fact that they have no where to party. They are friends with Freddy and think that it's lame that he sold out and got a job. They ride to the medical warehouse, break into the cemetery next door and start to party!

Frank and Freddy wake up and feel sick from the gas they inhaled. Upstairs they're shocked to find dead animals coming to life! Butterflies stuck to boards flutter their wings and the split dogs are breathing.
Even worse is the human body in the freezer that starts to scream and break down the door. They quickly lock it up and call their boss Burt.
With Burt there they decide to open the freezer door to deal with the reanimated corpse. It all goes wrong when they realise they can't kill it! Even chopping off it's head doesn't work!

Burt feels like he's backed into a corner. The barrels were from the army, so if he tells the police then he would get into a lot of trouble. Instead he cuts up the body and goes to the crematorium across the street and calls in a favour with his friend Ernie. Burt asks Ernie for a favour, wanting to burn the bag. Ernie wants to know whats in the bag, and is horrified by what's inside. Ernie's my favourite character by the way :)

Ernie agrees to burn the body. When it's burnt in the oven it lets of smoke into the clouds and atmosphere. It created burning rain, making the punks all run for cover in the car. They can't start the car.

At the crematorium, Burt is worried about Frank and Freddy who are feeling and looking worse. Ernie calls up an ambulance so they can get looked at.

While all of this is going on, Freddy's girlfriend Tina is in the warehouse looking for him. She goes into the basement, and finds the most horrible of all zombies

It's Tarman, the body from inside the army barrel!

Tina tries to escape and locks herself in a cupboard. Luckily her friends got tired of getting soaked in the car and come to her rescue! Not without a person getting killed though!

The group flee into the graveyard where the dead are returning to life!! Trash (the one who dances naked on a grave) gets eaten while the others split up, some going to the mortuary while two others returning to the warehouse.

Meanwhile the paramedics have arrived at the mortuary, and check up on Freddy and Frank. They find no pulse or heartbeat, but they're alive. The paramedics are confused so they prepare to take the men to the hospital, but are eaten by the dead!

The group arrive at the mortuary and try to convince Burt and Ernie that the dead are rising. Ernie goes outside to the ambulance, but is confronted by a zombie. They all barricade the mortuary, and a few of the group are killed.

It sounds stupid, but I don't want to give the rest of the film away. It's my favourite zombie film, being both awesome and really silly at the same time. It suggest you watch it if you enjoy zombie films, and tell me how you like it!

Scare factor: 0/5
Gore factor: 4/5 Lots of blood
Boob factor: 2/5 One set of boobs and a vag shot
OVERALL: 8/10 Brilliant!

Shock and Horror

On Saturday I went shopping with Dani in Perth. I went to the optometrist to get my eyes checked and choose some new glasses. It was a very hot day, I'm not looking forward to summer :(

I wore:
Shirt: BeMe
Skirt: Evans
Belt: Torrid
Tights: ?
Winklepickers: Dr. Marten (vintage!!)

I love the hi-low skirt. My friend calls them 'mullet' skirts :(

Here is Dani looking cute like always

We had waffles for lunch. Yum!

I also had this fantastic mango smoothie.

We took timezone photos!

I bought so much stuff! Three pairs of earrings. I love the ones on the left, they're so trad goth.

I've been looking everywhere for a coffin bracelet, glad I finally found one.

The candle store Dusk had their Halloween stuff on sale. I bought this haunted house decoration that holds tea light candles inside the windows.

Candle holder.

Halloween food!!!! I have no idea what the ghost twisties taste like, I don't know what 'spooky flavour' is suppose to be! I bought about four packets of them, and three of the screme eggs. I've already eaten two packets of the screme eggs! :-/

Green inside!

I was invited to a friends Halloween party on Saturday night, but I hadn't prepared a costume! Luckily I cobbled together something from clothes I already own, I went as a 1950's kind of girl.

I curled my hair at the front and wore a bandanna. I made my eyebrows curved. It's a very different look for me, very 'girly'

Top: Target
Belt: Torrid
Skirt: Domino Dollhouse
I also wore a black petticoat underneath, from Domino Dollhouse also

I love the circle skirt, it's been in my wardrobe for ages but I never wear it. Domino Dollhouse is a great store for plus-size girls. Very unique items.

Merissa looked lovely with Day of the Dead makeup!

Lots of spooky decorations around the DJ area :)

The best part about the party was my friends new puppy!!! He's so darn cute, and it made me realise that I'm much more a dog person (although I do like cats too!)

This is their other dog Snuffy. He's a bit timid, but a softy.

The puppy is named Damage, here he is licking Merissa.

Merissa made him a spider costume!! AAAH SO CUTE!!!

I wanted to steal him.

ALSO! Please remember to enter my giveaway
