The Crypt Opens

Last night was the opening of the new Goth club in Perth called The Crypt. My friend, Merissa, is the organiser of this new club. She has put so much into it, it was great seeing it all come together.

Merissa and Me spent an hour decorating the venue. Merissa bought a lot of candles at Ikea. I bought my incense, along with crushed velvet. It was very goth :P

I got to DJ early, I get to play all of my favourite post-punk and tradgoth.

Here is what I wore:
Fear my fat arms!
Shirt: Random store in Perth
Corset: Minx Corsets
Skirt: Target
Tights: Leg Avenue
Winklepicker boots: Demonia

My hair went fluro green under the blue lights.

Here I am with my friend Nikki

Guitar Wolf @ Amplifier, Perth

I went to see Guitar Wolf with my friend Jane on the 9th of December. Here is what I wore:

Makeup was silver and green. I'm using eyeshadow colours other than black and it's freaking me out.
I also got the cute bat and spider chain necklace from ebay.

I didn't wear a corset, and I wore my most comfy stompy shoes. I also used a shoulder bag so I had my hands free.

Bauhaus shirt: Internet then DIY
Skirt: Target
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: 14 hole Dr Martens
Lace gloves: Supre I think (Australian pre-teen store)

Here is my friend Jane looking heaps gorgeous. She's the girl who runs Minx Corsetry

First off I want to say that this was ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS I'VE EVER SEEN!!

I first became aware of Guitar Wolf from the cult horror, Wild Zero. I saw it on late night tv and loved it straight away (I even managed to tape it on VHS which I still have)

So I was super happy to hear they were coming to Perth. They are one of the bands I thought I'd never see.
They played at Amplifier, which I have never been to. The venue was okay, it was small but good for the size crowd that there was. I got a great view front and to the side, I got my punk on and was dancing to everything.

From the start the band was energetic. This lasted for their whole set! They didn't even stop for a break for water or anything!! I'm not sure if that is part of their show, or maybe because they're Japanese they're not good at small talk. In any case it was totally awesome, Guitar Wolf was flinging his sweat everywhere and spitting.

There was some great posing by Guitar Wolf during the set.
My favourite is Drum Wolf. He just kept going and going. I don't understand how they can keep going when they play such fast music.
Drum Wolf was brilliant though, whenever he stopped he leaned casually against his kit like he was bored. He even pulled out a comb and fixed his quiff! Then he took off his shirt and showed off his brilliant traditional tattoos.
This guy was pulled up on stage and Guitar Wolf gave him his guitar to play. Guitar Wolf held onto the dreadlock dude until it was time to play, then the dreadlock guy went wild! He was flinging his hair everywhere and it was totally epic.
There was a bit of crowed surfing and moshing going on, which I don't join in. I have recently got new ear piercings so I wanted to keep away from that. A few times a crowd surfer got close, but me and Jane ran away :P
Being on the side usually means you're not part of the moshing or pushing, and you can run when you see a surfer coming your way. I've never been a fan of moshing, all those sweaty dudes are just gross. Plus, I'm usually the person getting smashed in the face (not good when you have piercings and a nose chain)

The encore was played by Guitar Wolf alone.
I really suggest seeing them if you can. Jane had never heard of them, but she really enjoyed herself.

Wednesday Wants and What I Wore

Yes! I combined Wednesday Wants and What I Wore, because I'm lazy. I've had a crappy cold recently. Actually, it's not been the worst cold I've had and I'm very lucky that I only get about three or four a year.

Two things that I want this week:
Evans black spot mesh tunic. Evans, £29.50. Very cute, there are lots of tunics on Evans at the moment and I wonder if they're long enough for me to wear as a dress. Seeing as I'm tall, I don't think it'll work :P

Evans black lace prom dress. Evans, £49.50. Why can't they put sleeves on it? It would be so much nicer if it had some pretty sleeves. I also think it would be better to have a mannequin that actually has boobs, so we can see what it would look like.

Now onto what I wore!
I think I mentioned going to Devilles in Perth on Friday. They had a one off night called 'Batcave' and Goths got in free! With the promise of traditional Goth music, how could I pass it up? Here's what I wore:
I think my outfit turned out really nice!!
Lace undershirt: from an ex-friend
Black top: from Camden markets in the UK (£10)
Corset: Minx corsetry
Skirt: New! From Ebay (America)
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Demonia
Bangles: Evans
Fan: Fremantle E-Shed Markets
Necklace: Rosary (from New Norcia) Velvet choker (Ebay UK)

Yes, a new skirt. I wore it to work once, but I think it works much better as a going out goth skirt. It's a fine mesh in panels with a black underskirt, it's really swishy when I dance.

This is one of my best friends. We've always planned to shave our heads together and she took the plunge before me! So I had to catch up and do mine too. We freshly shaved our heads before going out :P it's nice that I can do that with a friend. She's seriously le smex, and she's my role model!

You can see our shaved noggins' here.

Here is a bit of a closeup of my makeup. Taken on my phone, I really love the effects as you can tell. You can better see my choker which has a spiderweb pendant. I made this nose chain myself.
I was a bit disappointed by the event. There was not enough Goth music, and they only played the popular stuff. My and my friend played 'spot the flannel shirt' because this club lets in lots of normal people.

Here is what I wore to the Loft on Sunday the 11th:
You might notice the hair colour change! My friends came over on Saturday and we bleached/dyed my hair to a darker green. It's turned out pretty well.
Dress: City Chic
Fishnet top: DIY
Necklaces: Long beads (Ebay) Batnecklace (Halloween bin)
Belt: Yours Clothing
Bag: Ironfist
Tights: We Love Colors
Shoes: Underground Boots

This dress has pockets! I'm not actually a fan of how it looks, but I do know my arse looks good in it.

I will be doing a review of Undergound Shoes because I have two pairs of them now. I have four pairs of winklepickers now :P
In this photo you can also see the comfort shorts I wear, which I get from Evans. I seriously love them and I've bought 5 pairs while they were in stock/season.

 Nix and Me.

Taken on my spiffy phone. I was very lazy with makeup. Just foundation, eyeliner and shadow. You can also see how my hair is darker.

Club Unknown and The Loft

I had a VERY busy weekend. My parents are currently taking a holiday in the UK, to visit family. So I have the house to myself. I'm going to invite some friends over to watch some movies, because I can't have any over while my parents are here.

On Saturday at Club Unknown there was an event for Minx Corsetry. There was a fashion show and a burlesque act, plus lots of good music. The theme was elegant vs. debauchery, I went as elegant.

Here is my makeup and EPIC GLITTER!! Glitter lips, hair and cheeks. Oh, and my nose chain that I made myself.

My best friend, Nix, lent me some eyelashes to wear. She has heaps.

Here is my outfit! I'm in the car park before walking to Club Unknown. I have no idea who's car that it.
Dress: What I wore to my year 12 ball, my friend sewed it for me and I customised it a bit.
Corset: Minx Corsets
Shoes: Demonia (you can't see them)
Lace Gloves: Supre (when lace was in fashion two years ago)
Fan: Local markets
Necklaces: Ebay

I DJed at the Loft on the Sunday after. I slept in my hair for the night before, so I'm still full of glitter. It was a Cure tribute night, so I wore my Cure shirt. I made most of my badges myself using the DIY method.

Detail of my glitter hair.

God, I really hate white shirts on me.
Shirt: Ebay UK
Vest: George at ASDA
Skirt: Millers ($3 at Op Shop)
Tights: We Love Colours
Boots: Demonias

I really had fun at The Loft. Lots of great music and dancing. It was really humid though, and we had really heavy rains afterwards.
Before my friends and I went to The Loft we visited San Churro for some yummy chocolate. It was great, and it's right across the road from The Loft.

Wedneday Wants- Job Edition

So, I got a job! YAY!!!
I am so happy, I'm starting Thursday. I spent all last night thinking about what stuff I can buy. Things I've been craving but don't have enough money for.
So, this is the wish list that will most likely come true. I'm totally buying that zombie chomper handbag from a previous Wednesday Want. And a whole lot of waist belts.

Shadoweyes, Volume 2 Shadoweyes In Love. $9usd Amazon. I've loved Ross Campbell's work since picking up a copy of The Abandoned in my local comic store. His characters are mainly alternative and there are HEAPS of curvy girls, each with a unique style. I'm a big fan of his series Wet Moon, and I've collected all his works. Shadoweyes is a fairly recent comic book from Ross, but apparently he's had the idea ever since a child. I look forward to more work from him.

The Walking Dead, Volume 11 Fear The Hunters. $9usd Amazon. I'm also a fan of the Walking Dead series of comics. I collected my first issue back in high school, it was on sale and I love anything zombie related. I then collected the rest of the series, and I'm up to Volume 10. I haven't had enough money to buy Volume 11 and upwards. I can't wait to re-read the whole series, it only takes me about 30mins to get though one. Totally worth it though, brilliant characters and great artwork. Plus zombies!

Glam Breakfast Mug. Hark! A Vagrant, $14usd. It's a Ziggy Stardust mug, what more can I say?

Black steel boned buckle corset. Minx Corsets, $150aud. I need a new corset! Luckily one of my good friends runs a corset shop. I've always wanted a buckled corset, and I love the fact that it's satin and not PVC like so many corsets with buckles.
