Emotional Problems

Oh wow. I've been feeling horrible for such a long time. Everything is crushing me and I don't think I can take it much longer. This weekend I really just wanted to hide away in my apartment, but I got invited to go to places.

I took the day off work Friday because I was feeling so down. I couldn't bring myself to get out of bed. Instead, I read a book and then cleaned my apartment. I also freshly shaved my head.
Haze and her girlfriend Kylie invited me out for dinner in the evening. I'm really poor at the moment, but I can still afford to go out with friends.

I look grumpy, because I am
New lace dress from City Chic (it was $100, but then down to $40 on sale)
Winklepickers: Underground Shoes
Glasses: Clearly Contacts

On Saturday, I went to visit my dad and step-mum for Fathers Day (although Fathers Day is on Sunday). I got him a gift card so he can buy himself some DVDs.

Me, Dad, my sisters Kirsty and Heather. Dad and Kirsty wearing Star Wars shirts was unintentional.

Also my Granny!

Saturday night I was invited to a warehouse party which I really was not in the mood for. My friend, Lisa, forced me to come. The party started at midnight, and I actually go to bed at 8:30pm (I'm a nanna) so I was really tired! But at least it was a chance to get dressed up and do my makeup. The night wasn't too bad, I got home around 3am.

New skirt: City Chic (on sale)
Skull shirt: New Look
Jacket: Ebay/DIY
Boots: Ebay
Belt: City Chic

Swimming Like a Mermaid

Yesterday I went swimming with Kylie. I got this really cute swimsuit from Swimsuits For All. It fits perfectly and it looks really good! The only thing I didn't like was the removable straps, I actually sewed them down.

I wore a swimcap to protect my hair. I have a new shrunken head tote bag (from Dangerfield) and my Little Mermaid towel.

Bat-Cave Mailorder

Bat-cave Mailorder offers lots of obscure band t-shirts. I placed an order in March and I've only just received it!! The shop is from Poland, and I know that Poland mail is very slow (I have a pen-pal from Poland, and our correspondence usually takes a while).
One thing I don't like about this shop is the lack of communication. I've send three e-mails to the store, asking where my order was and I did not receive a reply!
I seriously don't care that my order took 3/4 months to arrive, but having no communication is really rude and unprofessional. I had no idea if my order had been sent, or if I had wasted $50.

I purchased shirts featuring Siglo XX, Xray Spex, and Danse Society. The quality of the screen print doesn't seem to be 100%, but I guess only time can tell. I'm a bit worried about the print peeling off.

Overall, I'm a bit disappointed in this shop. The lack of communication was a deal breaker for me.

UPDATE 14/04/14: It's been a while since I got my shirts. I've washed them a few times, and they're holding up well. They're also still nice and soft. I'll take back my old review and say that the shirts a okay quality. It's the long shipping time that you have to watch out for, but I guess it's coming from Poland so it'll take a long time.

Picturing New York @ AGWA

Last Sunday I went to the Picturing New York exhibition at the Art Gallery of Western Australia with a friend. It was the last day of the exhibition, and it's part of the partnership between MoMA and AGWA.
The photographs were interesting, I enjoyed the architecture photos. I don't think I enjoyed this exhibition as much as the last one.
I'm very excited about the next one, because it will feature Dali artwork.
The museum currently has a Egypt exhibit on now, so I'm looking forward to seeing that!

After going to the art gallery, I fell on the stairs on the bus and fractured my ankle :(
At least I looked cute?

I'm not to sure about this red lipstick. It feels a bit orange?
The sweater clip is actually a skull collar chain from Asos.

Cardigan: Banned (I'm not happy about the quality, especially because it cost $50)
Shirt: City Chic
Skirt: It's either Asos or Evans (I can't get up to check because of broken ankle)

I always said that City Chic were too expensive, but they're really bringing out some cute stuff. It can't resist it!

After walking through the exhibition, there was a photo opportunity at the end with a landscape of New York. Here is me and my friend. I worked with him at Fringe World, and I didn't realise we had so much in common.

Spooky Tattoo

Last Friday, after work, I went to Foothills Tattoo to get my tattooist Josh to start my other sleeve. My left arm is going to be my 'goth arm' with lots of spooky things.

I was VERY happy with what he came up with. I gave him a vintage photo to copy the woman off, because I loved her pose. He drew her sitting on gravestones with a dripping heart in her hands!
Also you get a nice view of my fat arm :)

Halfway through!

All done!! My next appointment is in October. I'll get some background and colour.

Close-up of her head.

On Saturday I went with my best friend on some errands. We dropped off some posters for the next Alternative Markets and then went to Ikea. Here is what I wore:

Jacket: gifted from Mary at Dancing Maenad
Skirt: Op shop (not sure what brand) It has pockets! I love pockets on skirts
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Op Shop (not sure what brand)

I'm super happy about my boots. I found them in an Op Shop last week. It's really hard for me to find shoes in Op Shops, due to the fact that I have big feet and Op Shop shoes are generally gross. They're suede lace up biker type boots. I got them for $10 because the side zip was broken. I don't need the zips to put them on, so I just glued the zip shut :)

The rest of my weekend was uneventful and I just spent my time at home.

Piles of New Clothes

Last week I got so many new clothes! City Chic are currently having a 50%-75% off sale. This is huge! Usually only one of their dresses costs $100, but I got a few outfits for $100. I'm very proud of myself :)

I'm wearing red!! Isn't that spooky? The red skirt was defiantly an impulse buy, I wasn't sure if it suited me and I didn't have a friend there to give me an opinion.
I also bought the lace pussy-bow top. Pussy-bows are awesome, and this will look great with a corset!!
The red belt is from my wardrobe.

The back has a cute cutout.

The skirt is an animal print. I think I will have to get used to it!

This dress looks so UGLY on the hanger. I wasn't going to even try it on at the store because it looked so yucky. But I ended up trying it, and it's basically the cutest dress ever.

Such a cute dress! I'm very glad that I took the time to try it on. There were a bunch of dresses that I tried on, and it turned out that the ones I wanted didn't sit properly on me. They were made out of horrible heavy material. The last item I bought was a cardigan with lace on the sleeves. I didn't take a photo because I'm lazy :)

If you follow BatFit, you'll know that Le Professor Gothique has lost a lot of weight and it looking fabulous!! But what is a girl to do with all of her too-big clothes? Well, give them to me, of course!!
That's right! Le Professor Gothique sent me all of her old clothes from America. I was so excited to receive them, but also a bit scared because I didn't know what the sizing would be like. American and Australian sizing is so different!
Luckily everything fit!! It's such a strange feeling actually holding clothes that you've seen on someone else's blog. If you look through Le Professor Gothique's archive you'll find most of these clothes! It's surreal. I'm such a lucky girl, and she was a great sport sending her clothes to me.

Here we have a black lightweight jacket, I'm not sure what the fabric is but it's great for the weather we're having at the moment. I wore this to work last week, so you can see one of my badges already on the jacket :)
Also a cute grey leopard print skirt. I never thought that I would own a leopard print skirt!
There was also a gift with my package, a Trash and Vaudeville shirt! YAY!

This is the same jacket, but in purple. I've never owned a purple jacket! So exciting.
This is most likely the most cutest shirt I now own. It's a sheer lace top that's very flowy and flattering to my figure.
The skirt is very interesting and has little fluttering points of fabric. The belt is so 80s! I love it!
There were some other awesome clothes included in my package, but I'm a bit lazy today :)

THANK YOU TO LE PROFESSOR GOTHIQUE! You are seriously the best, I have so many awesome clothes.

OMG Shoes

Today I went into Perth to go shopping with my friend Dani. We haven't seen eachother in a while, so it was nice to see her.We first went to the Perth Art Gallery because we haven't been for a while. Sadly there wasn't very much shown, the whole second level was empty. I'm guessing they're preparing for a new exhibit.
We then got some bento! It's very awesome that the place we go to knows who we are and what our orders will be. I always get katsu chicken bento and Dani gets teriaki bento. Yum, I also had a kiwi iced tea.
At other places bento comes with miso soup, but I really dislike miso.

Sushi!

I love getting instant photos taken with Dani.

OMG shoes!!
It's VERY hard for me to find nice girl shoes. I have really big feet :-/
The only place that sells shoes that fit me is Target. I'm a size 11 there. I'm a size 10 mens. I'm so used to just buying mens boots because I know they'll be comfy and fit me. It was really great finding two pairs of cute girl shoes. There was a 30% off sale too!!

Rocking the cute bandana look.
Wearing
Siouxsie shirt: Internet
New cute skirt: Big W
Tights: Kmart
Boots: Dr Martens
I'm carrying all of my shopping :)
Here are the shoes I bought:
Satin with pom pom things. Patent leather pointy shoes. I LOVE THE PATENT LEATHER SHOES!!
I didn't like the pom poms, so I cut them off.
They were only sewn on, so very easy to cut off. Now I have to think of something else to put on the shoe. I was thinking of skull buttons or bows.
These are so awesome!

Tired Feet and Lots of Junk

Today I went shopping with my friend Dani into Perth. I wore red lipstick, even though I get scared someone will say "You're wearing xmas colours!!"
Just... no...

My Night of the Living Dead shirt is really old. I remember getting it for $60 back when I was in high school (I bugged my dad so much to buy it for me). It was originally a long sleeve men's shirt, which I never wore because it was too hot in summer and too cool for winter. So, I did some DIY and cut the neck and sleeves. I do love this shirt, the only thing is that it's a dark grey instead of black (Oh the horror!)

Lovely picture of Barbara on the back (They're coming to get you, Barbara!)
Other items of clothing:
Skirt- Target
Tights- We Love Colors
Boots- Dr. Martens
Bangles- Evans

I was going to wear my Underground Winklepickers, but it was raining and they are open at the front. The weather has been very strange at the moment, last week was all sunny and around 30 degrees. I actually took out my parasol so I didn't get burnt on the way to work.
Then the last few days have been rainy and thunderstorms. I had to find my umbrella amongst all my black clothes (it was at the bottom of course)

Here is me and Dani looking uber cool.

I did a crap load of shopping. I got a small sunscreen for my bag, one for my face. I got Bepanthen for my tattoo which I will be getting this Wednesday (used to cover the tattoo and heal it)

Also new cosmetics. Australis stayput pencil liner, Rimmel liquid eyeliner, Rimmel face powder (for handbag), and a Rimmel jet black eyeshadow (it was buy 2 get 1 free at the shop)

I also got a Monster High doll! I really like them, but I won't be getting them all. I already have a Ghoulia Yelps doll from a while back when they first came out here. My friend Dani loves these so much, she also has a talent for customising them. Making piercings and clothing for them, it's really awesome!

I could not resist buying this shirt. It was $10, so I got one for both me and Dani. It's a 'one size fits all' (except fat girls) so I'm going to cut into the back and make it a bit bigger.

I also got this really cute dress from Target. I don't usually shop there because the plus size selection is so frumpy, but it's good to check because they sometimes have gems like this. Also, I HATE their plus size tights range (as I have written a post about it).
This dress is nice though, it's shorter at the front and longer at the back with crochet at the bottom. It's a cotton dress, which will stretch but I still got a size larger just in case. The only problem with it is the sleeves, I hate sleeveless items and I'll be wearing a cardigan with this.

Torrid Haul

Look what I got in the mail the other day! The box from Torrid didn't take long to ship, and it's filled with goodies!
I took advantage of the sales to buy more stuff. I shopped at Torrid because I really wanted the skull cardigan. I got a larger size than I needed too, and I was worried that it would be too baggy when I got it. I'm pleased to say that the cardigan fits wonderful! It's just the right size to go over other bits of clothing without looking too tight.

I thought this warning label on one of the belts was funny. I'll make sure not to 'mouth or chew' my belt.

I've always wanted one of these corset belts. So glad that it was cheap!

 So shiny.

I'm very happy with my Torrid purchases. I've never shopped there before because I felt it was too expensive. The belts were all less than $20, which is cheaper than City Chic (the only trendy plus size shop in Australia) plus they had all the styles that City Chic would never have.
So excited about wearing all of them! Might take a while for me to wear my cardigan, as it's getting to be around 30c degrees here now :(
