OMG Shoes

Today I went into Perth to go shopping with my friend Dani. We haven't seen eachother in a while, so it was nice to see her.We first went to the Perth Art Gallery because we haven't been for a while. Sadly there wasn't very much shown, the whole second level was empty. I'm guessing they're preparing for a new exhibit.
We then got some bento! It's very awesome that the place we go to knows who we are and what our orders will be. I always get katsu chicken bento and Dani gets teriaki bento. Yum, I also had a kiwi iced tea.

At other places bento comes with miso soup, but I really dislike miso.

OMG shoes!!

It's VERY hard for me to find nice girl shoes. I have really big feet :-/

The only place that sells shoes that fit me is Target. I'm a size 11 there. I'm a size 10 mens. I'm so used to just buying mens boots because I know they'll be comfy and fit me. It was really great finding two pairs of cute girl shoes. There was a 30% off sale too!!

Satin with pom pom things. Patent leather pointy shoes. I LOVE THE PATENT LEATHER SHOES!!

I didn't like the pom poms, so I cut them off.

They were only sewn on, so very easy to cut off. Now I have to think of something else to put on the shoe. I was thinking of skull buttons or bows.

These are so awesome!

The Crypt Opens

Last night was the opening of the new Goth club in Perth called The Crypt. My friend, Merissa, is the organiser of this new club. She has put so much into it, it was great seeing it all come together.

Merissa and Me spent an hour decorating the venue. Merissa bought a lot of candles at Ikea. I bought my incense, along with crushed velvet. It was very goth :P

I got to DJ early, I get to play all of my favourite post-punk and tradgoth.

Le Professeur Gothique's Monthly Homework Assignment: Artistic Inspirations

It's time again for another homework assignment from the lovely Professeur Gothique. This months task was to draw inspiration from my favourite artwork or artist. I'm cheating a little bit and choosing  Pre-Raphaelite artworks.

I was very lucky to visit the Birmingham Art Gallery while I was in the UK. My Grans friend took me. Birmingham is the home to many artworks by the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood.

The brotherhood was formed in the middle of the 19th century and contained around seven members. They rejected the artwork of their time and focuses on creating different art that focused on mythology and storytelling.
In other news, I love art history but I'm terrible at writing essays. Just read the Wikipedia article :P

I saw The Death of Chatterton by Henry Wallis. I bought a print too :P

I love the paintings of Jane Morris. She was a muse to two of the brotherhood. It's strange seeing photographs of her, as she seems very plain. Victorians have a different sense of beauty, it seems.

I chose to try and recreated Death The Bride by Thomas Cooper Gotch. It was a bit hard because I don't have feminine features, or long hair. Here is what I came up with:

The poppies are the ones I gather from Remembrance Day, which falls on the 11th of November (the day after my birthday). They have old people selling them for a gold coin donation, so I try to stock up as they're so nice.
I love poppies. Fun fact, if you squint at the photo you can imagine what I used to look like with black hair! It's been so long!

So Much Dancing

I went to The Loft last Sunday (the 8th). I was looking forward to dancing heaps, and The Loft never disappoints. It was also a long weekend, so I got to sleep in Monday morning :)

The Loft is held at Geisha Bar in Perth, they usually have house music on the long weekend. My boss decided to let The Loft crew to have a chance. It was packed! There were a lot of normal people though, so I'm guessing lots of people were expecting house music (yuck). Instead there was awesome music.

I really dislike sharing the dance floor with normal people sometimes. They don't know about dancing space, I need room to dance! Some people just stood on the dance floor talking (get out of the damn way!). Then I got laughed at by some random chicks, my dancing style is 80s, but I'm not bad. I guess they're not used to a fat chick dancing brilliantly, I love dancing so they can bugger off. Then a dude kept trying to grab my hand and put his arm around my shoulder, I kept telling him to back off. Then he got kicked out (haha)

I really love this dress, it's so 80s and cute! It has the right amount of sleeve that helps me hide most of my flabby arms. It has two ruffles on the skirt, great for twirling.

The only thing I don't like is how low cut it is. I have to safety pin the dress to my bra, or my boobs will show :-/

Maybe I just don't have big enough boobs for this type of dress.

I put my hair into a messy backcomb. I really couldn't be bothered putting it into a hawk. It was kind of pushed over to one side and messy. I thankfully put enough hairspray in so it didn't deflate.

 I also LOVE wearing red lipstick. I just can't get over the whole green+red=Christmas thing.

Happy Day

I had a really good day today. My friend Merissa picked me up from my house and we went to run a few errands.

First we went to Ikea!

They had bunnys walking around with chocolate, there was a dude bunny with a beard who was a bit scary.

I also stalked a cute dude working in a the delivery service. He looked like the love child of Vince Noir. I have mad stalking skillz.

We then went to Officeworks, which is a stationary store. Merissa needed to print out posters for her new club The Crypt. I will be a resident DJ playing my usual post-punk and 80s alternative (my DJ name is DJ Prudish)

Officeworks were giving away free Cadbury Creme Eggs!! The cashier said I was aloud to take as many as I liked (I took three!)

We went to Mame (one of the only Goth stores in Perth). We dropped off some posters for the club and said hello to our friend who works there.

Mary Poppins @ Burswood Theatre

I'm a very lucky girl, my best mate Merissa treated me to see Mary Poppins at the Burswood Theatre (Thursday 5th April). I love going to see plays, the last one I saw was Oliver in London.
The threatre is at Burswood, which is Perths only casino (I think). It's kind of spooky walking through all the people at the slot machines. It's a bit depressing.
Burswood is known for it's bogans and crime (around the train station). I totally don't understand the whole gambling/casino thing.

I got dressed when I came home for work, but I didn't change my makeup. It was a surprise to see it hadn't come an oily mess. I'm also wearing my glasses, which I don't think I've shown on this blog before. I wear reading glasses for the computer, movies, etc. Seeing as I was going to watch a play, I didn't want to be squinting a lot.

Merissa got us great seats, near the front of the stage. I enjoyed the show, the sets were brilliant. I think the story could have been better. My favourite part was the 'Step In Time' song and dance.

I also won an Easter egg at my works raffle! I was so happy.

I now have a five day weekend, so I'm trying to relax and enjoy myself.
