Incursion Halloween 2014

I got to DJ at Incursion Halloween on Saturday 1st Nov. There was a great turnout, I think the night went really well.

Here's my skeleton Frederick Bonesworthington testing out the decks

Me and fellow DJ, Joel. I admire Joel because he's a minority, within a minority, within a minority. He's a gay alternative Aboriginal :) We don't see each other often, but he's a really genuine guy

Some club decorations

I'm a witch!
Sorry about the grotty bathroom mirror shot. Someone obviously didn't clean up properly. My witch costume is seriously what I usually wear to the club, I just added a witches hat.

The wig I used only cost $10 on ebay. Much better quality from those crappy costume store wigs!

I put a star on my forehead with inspiration from the T-Rex song 'Ride a White Swan'

I used some indie makeup brands, Life's Entropy and Shiro.
I used Life's Entropy Osmosis lipstick, I mixed in some darker blue around the corners of my lips. [my review of Life's Entropy]
I used Shiro's Evolve eyeshadow.

Heading home with Fred in the backseat.

Pre-Birthday Dinner

I was going to spend Halloween on the couch with a horror film, but my dad and step-mum asked if we could go have a pre-birthday dinner because they're going on holiday next week.

We went to have yummy chinese food, and my sisters, Granny and her husband came too!

After we ate, we headed back to my parents place to have tea and cake. I also got my birthday present early (yay!). My family were talking about the 'good old days' (Post-war Britian).

Granny told a story how she used to scare my dad and uncles into going to bed by telling them the "9 o'clock 'orses (horses) will come and get them" then she'd go outside and tap on their window with a long stick to scare them! I think this may be a Leicester and rural tradition, because I did a bit of googling and could only find stories from Leicester (where my family is from).
My gran is a pretty awesome lady, raising four boys and immigrating to Australia in the 70s.

Here is my little sister, Heather, and I. She graduated high school last week!
I'm wearing:
Dress: Asos Curve
Cardigan: Hell Bunny
Tights: We Love Colors
Boots: Justin Roper Boots

Here is a more blurry shot to show that we're dorks. I lost my balance and nearly fell into the window, and Heather is laughing at me.

Here are my presents!
On the left is a cone incense burner, middle is a preloved Bowie vinyl, and on the right is a Phrenology bookend (came in a set of two)

I love the incense burner, you put the cone in the circle and the top on. Then the incense smoke will come out the top and look pretty. I need to stock up on cone incense, I only have stick incense.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

I made some cupcakes for my coworkers (my icing skills are really bad). I'm not doing anything Halloweeny tonight, instead having a pre-birthday dinner with my family because they're going on holiday and will miss my actual birthday.

There is an alternative Halloween club night tomorrow night, which I'll be DJing at. I'm dressing as a witch!
What are you up to on Halloween?

Wednesday Wants

(It's actually Thursday in Australia)

My friend brought to my attention this new handbag by Banned. It also comes in purple.
I love the spiderwebs and bats. I'm not a handbag type of person, because I think I'm too butch for them. This handbag is cute, I wish I knew if it was big or small.

L'Oreal Charming Cockatoo's Pout Lipstick Review

I picked up this L'Oreal lipstick for $7.50 at a chemist at work.

The colour is Charming Cockatoo's Pout. I believe it's part of the Australian version of Project Runway (I don't watch t.v. so I have no idea)

I like the stamp on the lipstick.

The colour is a plum red, with pink undertones

I think the colour would work better over lipliner, as the application is a bit patchy and thin. I really like the colour, I'm a big fan of plum red.

Overall, I'm not sure if I'll wear this much due to the application, but it was cheap and I can add it to my lipstick collection.

When in doubt, dress up and go out.

Yesterday, my sister and I went shopping. I wanted to look at the Halloween things, and get an idea of what I need to buy for my future birthday party.
I wasn't feeling 100% but put on some makeup and nice clothes to try and make myself feel better.

My hair is super green at the moment because I dyed it last Wednesday.
Shirt: City Chic
Skirt: Evans
Leggings: Target
Lipstick: Lime Crime
Boots: Justin Roper Cowboy Boots
Prescription Sunglasses: Zenni Optical

I found some great Halloween things, I'm going back when I get paid next.
I have so many Halloween cupcake cases, I'm going to have to make a bunch of cupcakes this year. I'm going to use the finger puppets in loot bags for my b-day. I love how expressive and cute they are!

Here's My Face!

I went to a BBQ on the weekend. I didn't get a photo of my outfit, but I did get a few of my face. Enjoy :)

I'm wearing my green Inglot eyebrows and Revlon Really Red matte lipstick.
You can see my hair needs to be re-dyed soon, it's going a bit blue!
